Virginia Fico

Virginia May (Norman) Fico, age 94, of South Amboy, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 14th, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Newfoundland, NJ, Virginia went to Butler High School and worked for Acme Markets in Pompton Lakes, NJ where she met Gennaro Fico.

Virginia and Gennaro married in 1955. She worked for many years while raising three children. In 1976 they moved to Hollywood, Florida. Virginia and Gennaro retired and then moved to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1995, where she was an active member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and watching and keeping stats of every New York Yankee Baseball game.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Norman. Her son, Nicholas Fico and her husband, Gennaro Fico. Surviving is her daughter, Cynthia (Fico) and her husband William Slavicek. Her son Gerald Michael Fico and his wife Kathie Fico. Her Seven grandchildren, Brian and Joey Slavicek, Jesse and Amanda Slavicek, Jennifer (Slavicek) and Mike Bruij of New Jersey, Michael (Fico) and his wife Sara Sestillo of Sweden, Melissa (Fico) and her husband Nelson Ballester, Brandon Fico and his Fiance Zibo Abdurakhunanova and Danielle Fico of Florida. Her six great-grandchildren Kaycie and Jillian Slavicek, Nikke and Paige Slavicek, Max Bruij and Cohen Sestillo and her sister in-law and brother in-law, Connie and Louis Macri and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Raritan Bay Funeral Service, 241 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879. Burial is private.
