Thomas Terrance Palmer
Thomas T. Palmer (Edison, NJ) passed away Wednesday, May 6th, 2020; at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital-New Brunswick after a 3 week battle with Covid-19.
Thomas was born June 11th, 1940 to John and Marion (Dailey) Palmer in Scranton, PA.  He is predeceased by both his parents and his brothers Jack Palmer and Jimmy Palmer.
Thomas served in the US Navy from 1960 to 1962 aboard The USS Brenner.
Tom moved to Linden, NJ in 1963, where he was employed by Rheems. He later moved to Sayreville and South Plainfield before becoming a resident of Edison, NJ.
Later in life Tom pursued his dream of truck driving, joining Teamsters Local #27 before his retirement in 2002.  His passion for truck driving came during his teenage years when he worked for his family's trucking company Palmer's Transfer in Scranton, PA.
Thomas was a life time member of St. Andrews Knights of Columbus where he held the title of Past Faithful Navigator for the 4th Degree. He enjoyed and loved assisting in all events held by the KoC, with a special interest and passion to St. Patrick's Day parades and Corned Beef Dinner Dances. During quite a few year of his retirement, Tom served behind the bar at the KoC where he will always be remembered for his humor and straight up honest good heart by many long time friends he has there
Tom was an avide coin collector and baseball fan whom seldom miss watching a game of his beloved New York Yankees. Bowling and Friday night poker games have always been a favorite past time of Tom's as well.

Thomas is survived by his sister MaryLou Hughes of Dunmore, Pa and his brother Timothy Palmer (Annmarie) of Maryland.  Tom is also survived by his 4 beautiful daughters whom he loved dearly and unconditionally; Suzanne Palmer-Babinetz of Summerville, SC; Kathleen Palmer (Mark Marques) of Brick, NJ; Angela Palmer of South Amboy, NJ and Janine Cuevas (Tommy) of Davie, Florida.  Tom will be forever missed by his 7 grandchildren, to whom a few of them lovingly called him "Grandpa Roar": Alyssa Rotondo (Travis), Brian Babinetz (Jamie), Taylor Rorke, Vito Dorio and Sage, Reese and Liv Cuevas. Thomas was blessed to have 5 great-grandchildren: Isabella, AJ, Lyla, Daniel and Nora.  Tommy will also be sorely missed by all his nephews, nieces and cousins ....espeacially come family reunions when Tom would served up his famous home made Texas Wiener Hot Dogs.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions on gatherings, a direct cremation will take place on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday,  October 24th, 2020, 11:30 AM at St Andrew's Church in Avenel, NJ
