Ernesto “Ernie” Vazquez, 94, of Howell, NJ, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his home in Howell with his family at his side. Ernesto was born in Puerto Rico in 1927 to Emmanuel and Margarita Vazquez before moving New Jersey. He was a chef for 30 years at the American Hotel, a long time volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and an active member of the Reformed Church of Colts Neck.
Ernesto is predeceased by his first wife, Laura Quezada and his second wife, Laura Bermudez; siblings, Mercedes Pagan, Miriam Pagan, Eddie Vazquez, Edwin Vazquez, Benjamin Vazquez, Milton Vazquez Pagan and Manuel Vazquez Pagan. He is survived by his daughter, Sonia Serrano; son, Giovanni Vazquez; sisters, Milagro Pagan and Gladys Pagan; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Raritan Bay Funeral Service, 241 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879, Sunday, April 25th, 2021 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM for a celebration of Ernesto’s life. In lieu of flowers, that family has asked donations to please be made to the Habitat for Humanity Foundation. A link will be provided below to donate.
Furthermore, for those who can not attend service's for Ernesto on April 25th because of illness or other reasons, a link will be provided here in the obituary for virtual services, on the day of services.
