Douglas G Downey, Jr.

Douglas “Cory” Downey Jr. was born on June 22, 1975, in Newark, New Jersey. He was born to Denise Generals and Douglas Downey. Cory grew up between Old Bridge and Paterson, New Jersey. He graduated from Cedar Ridge High School. Shortly after, Cory enlisted in the United States Army. He loved art from a child and was talented in many ways. His paintings expressed his energy and his mind. He also enjoyed fashion and modeling. Cory’s spirit and love was so strong you could never stay mad at him for too long. Whether he cursed you out or vice versa he had a very charismatic way of getting back on your good side. There was nothing more in this world he loved more than his children Amari, Jayden, Nadia, his mother Denise, his father Douglas, and his pineapple Amsterdam shots. He took on the responsibility of raising his children all on his own. He was a great father. Through his flaws and all, he made sure his children knew he loved them and those close to him. Whether you were family or an acquaintance, Cory’s love was endless and worth way more than diamonds and gold. There was no way possible he didn’t make sure you felt his love. To know Cory was to know a true genuine loving, handsome, ambitious, courageous, and charismatic man. We love you and we celebrate you. Thank you for giving your love and light. Thank you for making our darkest day bright with that big wide smile and chinky eyes.

Relatives and friends are invited to, Raritan Bay Funeral Service, Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for a Celebration of Douglas "Cory" Downey, Jr.'s Life. Cremation will be private.

For your safety and the safety of others, masks will be required to be worn in the funeral home during visiting hours, regardless of vaccination status.
