Ana Otero

Ana Otero of Old Bridge, NJ, formally of East Brunswick, NJ, passed away peacefully at the Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, NJ on December 13, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Ana was born in Puerto Rico in 1927 to Ramon and Rita Vega-Montanez and moved to the states at an early age. Ana was an avid church goer, attending St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church as often as she could. She had a true love and passion for her faith, radiating that faith onto everyone she knew and cared so much about. Ana was such a caring, vibrant person who was always dressed to impress no matter where the road would take her that day. A lover of the Christmas season and being with family was always very important to Ana, she especially loved being with her grandchildren. Ana would often indulge in a few New York Yankee games on tv as well some of her favorite soap operas and perhaps a boxing match if there was a good match up. A truly remarkable person who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Ana is predeceased by her parents, Ramon and Rita Vega-Montanez, her husband Pedro Otero Ortega who passed away in 1998 and her sister, Anabelle Barlow who passed in 2012. She is survived by her brother, Victor Vega; daughters, Ada Otero and Gloria Rhame; grandchildren, Adrienne Quinones, Nicole Barlow, Alicia Barlow, Peter Cornier, Melissa Rhame, Cody Rhame, Manny Ortiz, Ricky Ortiz, Peter Ortiz; 15 great grandchildren and many dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, located at, 83 Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge, NJ 08857, on Thursday, December 19th for a memorial mass at 10:30 A.M. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Raritan Bay Funeral Service, 241 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 8879. Cremation was private.
